I don´t believe in chores. And I don´t run a 5 start hotel either. So I expect the offspring to chip in and help out. Spontaneously preferably. Seriously, if you believe that ever happens, get a reality check. Please.

I never understood the concept of paying my children for chores. There is something about that which just chills my very core.  What is the lesson in teaching my children that chores are jobs and that contributing in the home they live in, has monetary value? No, that´s not for me.

Rather than paying them for braindead household chores, I choose to pay them for their academic scores. That is their job. Their household contributions are rewarded with praise ang genuine gratitude. As I expect in return when I do something for them.
